VERBS OF BEING

Action verbs are not the only verbs found in sentences! There are other verbs that are slightly more difficult to find because they simply show "being." For instance, in the sentence "He is an actor," the verb "is" merely forms a way to connect the subject "He" to the subject complement "actor." It does not show an action, but it is still a verb!

The verbs of being are:
